The Fourth of July may be over but there’s still a lot of events taking place over the weekend in Tampa. Check out these events and plan a date night or a night for the whole family.

Zoo’s Summer Sunset Celebration: The Lowry Park Zoo’s Summer Sunset Celebration is perfect for date night or a family night as the park will stay open for fans to take a stroll as the sun sets. The celebration will include live music, roaming entertainment, special dining options and an expanded light show finale Friday and Saturday from 4-10 p.m. It will run on weekends through July 29 and is included with admission. Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper: Tampa’s Amalie Arena will welcome two iconic musicians and live performers on Saturday. Grammy Award-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart will be joined by Tony winner Cyndi Lauper. Shark Con: Take the kids to enjoy this weekend’s Shark Con at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Learn all about sharks, enjoy a touch tank, shark tooth dig pit, a paddle board clinic, and ocean bounce house, a scuba pool, shark ride, mermaids, marine rescue exhibits, STEM projects and a shark dissection. An addition of Shark Con, director Anthony C. Ferrante is hosting a screening of gloriously schlocky Sharknado at 10 p.m. Friday at the Tampa Theatre. 711 N Franklin St. $7. Ferrante will be a guest speaker at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Shark Con. tampatheatre.org.

Tampa Bay Rays: Saturday’s Tampa Bay Rays game against the Boston Red Sox at 4:10 p.m. will feature an Evan Longoria Game of Thrones bobblehead for the first 15,000 fans. Tampa Bay Etsy Craft Party: This event is free to the community and draws local artists, makers and vintage sellers. There will be art demonstrations, make-and-take projects, vintage items for sale, a raffle and swag bags to the first 100 adults.
