Fourth Of July Celebrations: South Florida

Miami will be lit up with colors and booms this Fourth of July. There are a number of firework celebrations going on this weekend and next week in South Florida for the whole family.

Marathon Beach Party & Fireworks Show: July 4 in Marathon. Enjoy the Keys’ largest and longest fireworks displays and a patriotic parade that begins around 10:30 a.m. and will proceed from Marathon High School on Sombrero Beach Road (MM 50 oceanside) to free-admission Sombrero Beach. At the beach there will be a daylong celebration featuringfood, drinks, kids’ crafts and entertainment, concluded with fireworks. 305-743-5417.

America’s Birthday Bash: Miami on July 4. Take part in the largest Independence Day celebration in the South with live music, food and drinks, children’s activities and a 30-minute fireworks display starting at 9 p.m. The park opens at 10 a.m. and admission is free. Salute to Independence: Boynton Beach on July 4. The city will host a celebration with food, concerts, fireworks and more along the city’s waterfront. Intracoastal Park, 2240 N. Federal Hwy. Free. www.boynton-beach.org.

July Fourth Celebration at Delray Beach: July 4. A family-freindly celebration featuring a sand sculpture contest, music, children’s activities, live entertainment, food, and fireworks. The event will start at 8 a.m. and run all day with the firework display at 9 p.m. The event will be on the beach at the intersection of A1A and Atlantic Avenue. www.downtowndelraybeach.com.

Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic at The Barnacle Historic State Park: July 4 in Coconut Grove. Celebrate the holiday with hot food, live music, games, crafts, and fun the whole family can enjoy.
