Hundreds Of Jobs Coming To Polk County

There is more good news for Polk County residents looking for work.

A Walmart eCommerce fulfillment center is opening at Interstate 4 and Highway 27 in the Davenport area. The 2.2 million square foot facility on fifty acres will send out orders made online.

Six hundred permanent jobs are being created with an additional one thousand seasonal positions. The mass job creation is just what that part of Polk County needs according to Commissioner Todd Dantzler.

“The northeast part of the county is our fastest growing population-wise.” he said.

Polk County already has a giant Amazon fulfillment center, demonstrating that the area is a crossroads for Florida commerce. The county offered tax breaks and a speeded-up approval process to get the Walmart eCommerce fulfillment center.
