Earlier this week Pottermore, a popular Harry Potter fan site, launched the Patronus test. One Harry Potter character was not pleased with her spirit animal though.
For those of you not fortunate enough to know what a Patronus is it is much more than just a spirit animal. It’s the concentrated form that your happiest memories form into, which turns into a protective spirit to shield you from dark forces- such as the soul-sucking Dementors.
With the help of J.K Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, fans are able to find out what their Patronus is.
Actress Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the HP movies, was not pleased with her Patronus. In fact, she was actually embarrassed by it and I can’t say I blame her. In the movie Lovegood’s Patronus was a hare, but in Pottermore’s Patronus test Lynch’s Patronus was a salmon.
Lynch immediately took to Twitter to show what she felt was a grave mistake on the part of the Patronus test. She especially highlighted her strong affection for felines.
But it didn’t stop there, it actually got quite better as Lynch really laid her feelings about her salmon spirit animal out there.
But then fans came to her rescue, trying to reassure her that a salmon really isn’t all that embarrassing.
Actually quite a few fans replied back to Lynch’s tweet showing their results of the Patronus test and ready for it? Yes they all got a salmon as well! That of course made Lynch feel a little better.
If you’re curious about your Patronus then wonder on over to Pottermore to take the test. Maybe you’ll get a salmon as your spirit animal or maybe you’ll be like me and get a St. Bernard. Not sure how either of those animals will defend off the soul-sucking Dementors, but J.K. Rowling wouldn’t have put them in the quiz if they couldn’t get the job done, right?
