Police: Body Found In The Backyard Of Daytona Home

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a decomposing body was found in the backyard of a Florida home.

Daytona Beach police spokeswoman Lyda Longa says a resident of the home spotted the body in the backyard and called police Sunday afternoon.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the body was not identified, but Longa says it appears to be a man.

Police have not said how long the man’s body was in the backyard or whether there were any signs of foul play.

Authorities say they have contacted the medical examiner’s office to identify the man and reveal his cause of death. Further details have not been released.
