America Became A Dictatorship Today (and no one seemed to notice)

By Jim Watkins

I understand that part of President Obama’s agenda is to progressively transform America into what he perceives is a globally-friendly, socially correct society.

Part of this strategy is to make sure every niche demographic receives the full protection of the federal government. In his attempt to correct the wrongs of the past, Obama and his Justice Department is now dictating policy to every public school in the United States to immediately allow any child who might even think he or she is of the wrong sex to be allowed to use the public bathroom or shower in which he or she “identifies with.”

This is at the heart of gender identity; it’s not if you were born male or female, but who you identify with. This is not too far from Rachel Dolezals’ claim that, even though she is white and was raised by white parents, she feels – and therefore is – African American. Dolezal was a Spokane, Washington chapter president of the NAACP in 2015 and she portrayed herself to be African American. When she was exposed, she lost her position but has now received a book deal to tell her story.

In today’s world, if you are a thirteen year old boy and you feel like a girl, you now have the right to enter into any school bathroom you wish and you have the protection of the U.S. Federal Justice Department behind you. U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch equates this right to “Gender Identity” as the same right black students deserved when they wished to go to a white-school in Topeka, Kansas in 1951.

I am sure many who support LGBT rights also believe the transgender bathroom issue is an issue of human rights and that any such law that prohibits trans-gender’s from entering the restroom of their choice is discriminatory.

I would suggest we let the courts have this debate and settle it, but for the purposes of this article, what troubles me is the extent, the speed and the outright frightening force the president is using to cram his ideology down the throat of every parent in the United States without any kind of due process. The president is threatening to withhold federal funding from schools if they don’t comply with his “suggestion” that all schools allow kids to use the bathroom to which identifies best with the sexual identity they have chosen to relate to.

Do you understand the level of government overreach that is on display here?

If you want to pardon the president for trying to help protect “trans” people, I get it. But to extort federal tax dollars – dollars you and I pay to ensure we have public schools so that our nation can have grown-ups who can read, write and do arithmetic – in the least is egregious. It is a de facto law through force the president is imposing, without even a debate.

The president did it to North Carolina, why not the other 49 States as well.

Two years ago, the U.S. Attorney General, at the behest of the President, also sent notices to every university in the nation demanding a report showing how they address sexual assault issues on campus, and that as a matter of policy, schools would now be required to report to the federal government, any incident involving any sexual assault claim that came through their office. In essence creating a watch list that includes quite possibly listing the names of every male student on every campus in the United States, even if there were no criminal charges filed.

Ladies and gentleman, they say a frog being boiled in water doesn’t realize it before it is too late that his blood is boiling over. Dictatorship has now come to America. We now have a president who rules by fiat. It is not a republic, it is not a monarchy, it is, by definition, a dictatorship:

Dictatorship is a form of government where a country is ruled by one person or political entity, and exercised through various mechanisms to ensure the entity’s power remains strong.

When the president can decree to over one hundred million people who attend schools throughout the country that they have to adjust behavior to accommodate a mandate issued by the federal law enforcement agency, this is the use of force. To arbitrarily say the president has the power to limit or re-allocate tax dollars away from those who will not comply with the instructions of the president, is a dictatorship, especially when no law has been proposed, voted on, or passed.

Obama is using a mechanism (the threat of withholding funds) and with the authority of the U.S. Justice Department, to maintain authority.

You may agree in principle with the notion that transgender people should be protected from discriminatory policies. I would argue most Americans would agree with any policy that protects people from discrimination, but that is not the issue. The issue at hand is why we would allow a president to issue a mandate and force Americans to adhere without any due process.

Talk about a slippery slope. How is forcing a public policy mandate of any kind different from say, making certain people wear yellow stars on their clothing? How can you, as a parent have any possible recourse? By law you have to send your kids to school. By law your children must comply with the presidents’ mandate. The schools have no choice but to comply. Where else would they get funding from since the government holds the money collected from local and city taxes that are collected and sent to Washington? What about Catholic schools, or charter schools run by faith-based organizations, will they also be forced to comply or face federal lawsuits that could essentially put them out of business?

Am I the only one who see’s this power grab for what it is. The better question you might ask: how does a sitting president come the conclusion that he alone can mandate public school policy simply because he thinks it is necessary?

How can you, as an American, live under a ruler who rules by force in a country that is set up as a constitutional republic? This is not about bathroom privileges; this is about a total usurpation of power and a country that is either too misguided or too weak to prevent it from happening.

Shame on you LGBT members who support this overreach of federal power. You might have a small perceived victory today, but it came at a huge price.

The president is breaking the law by forcing his will on the American people without due process.
