South Florida flooding is entering its third day

MIAMI (AP) — It is day three of flooding in South Florida and despite some hope that things will clear soon there remains a good chance it won’t be until Saturday at the earliest. There are plenty of areas where cars can’t get to because of the high water.

While rain is in the forecast, the National Weather Service, is forecasting a 70 percent chance of rain in South Florida on Friday with diminishing rain chances over the weekend.

Some areas got up to 11 inches (28 centimeters) of rain between Monday and Wednesday. The weather service said 7.3 inches (18 centimeters) fell in Sunrise, where a number of malls are located where shoppers have been told to use caution.
