President Trump Will Be In Tampa To Stump For DeSantis & Scott

Tampa has been one of President Donald Trump’s favorite spots to campaign and running for the White House he made five stops here. Next week President Trump will return to the area July 31st for a big rally at the Florida State Fairgrounds to stump for a couple of his favorite people.

His 7 p.m. rally will be promoting the campaign of gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis who suddenly is in a close race with Adam Putnam. Also, he will be encouraging his voters to support Gov. Rick Scott in his race to defeat Democrat Bill Nelson for the United States Senate.

President Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Tampa on July 31, providing another boost for surging gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis.

During a May phone call President Trump told a group of Republicans at a Hillsborough fundraising dinner that he was coming back to the Bay Area soon. He wanted to make sure those attending the dinner that he wants to help support area candidates as well as other folks in Florida as the August primaries are coming up in a little over a month.

The 2020 Trump for President issued a press release last night that stated he

“is expected to address the latest record-breaking jobs and economic data from the booming Trump economy, his nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, and the importance for Floridians to get out and vote this fall for key races to support his agenda; including to support Rick Scott who is running to defeat Bill Nelson in the U.S. Senate, Matt Gaetz for re-election to the U.S. House, and Ron DeSantis for Governor.”

Where Trump’s backing has really been a huge plus in the states race for governor. His backing of DeSantis, went against a number members of the Florida Republican Party who felt that Putnam would fare better against the Democratic nominee in the November general election.

Last week Marc Caputo penned for POLITICO wrote that DeSantis leads Putnam 42 percent to 30 percent, said Tony Fabrizio, a top Republican pollster who asked the questions about the governor’s race in a broader survey he took for an unspecified political group that’s not involved in the governor’s race.

It shows that Trump has great power in the Florida Republican Party that not too long ago was closer to former Gov. Jeb Bush. But that is no longer the case at least for now.
