President Donald Trump says he remains “a little bit torn” about whether it would be better to shut down the government before or after the midterm elections in an effort to secure funding for his long-promised border wall.

Normally, I am not a big believer in American polling, but there have been a few produced recently which indicate trouble for the Democrats:

Scott attended a pair of low-key events Tuesday with Trump in Washington D.C. and Tampa, flying on Air Force One between cities, before heading off for a fundraiser in Clearwater rather than appearing on stage at a campaign rally with the president.

Taking to Twitter to complain about the ongoing Russia investigation, Trump said Sessions "should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further."

Although he talked about other things, it was obvious the president understands the importance of the economy as a sales tool for Republican candidates.
