Are El Chapo’s Days Numbered?

Mexican authorities say they are closing in on drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, one of the world’s most wanted men, in the hills of Northwest Mexico. Guzman, longtime head of the Sinaloa drug cartel, escaped from a maximum-security prison in July by fleeing into an underground tunnel connected to his cell.

Early Sunday morning, Mexican police and marines stormed a village where he was believed to be hiding. Guzman, known for his clever means of avoiding law enforcement, such as disappearing beneath hydraulically operated bathtubs, managed to avoid capture once again, but not without suffering injuries to his face and legs.
