Two Shot Overnight At Club Viva
Early Monday morning two people were shot at Club Viva and transported to a nearby hospital.
According to police, one victim was shot in the neck while the other was shot in the side. The shooting took place just outside the club on N. Armenia Ave in Tampa. As of now the condition of the two victims is unknown.
The Tampa Police Department said the shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning and that “several hundred people were inside the nightclub,” per abc action news.
Police say they have leads, but no one is currently in custody in relation to this shooting.
Club Viva is no stranger to shootings. Back in August of 2015 there were three people wounded when shots were fired.
During that shooting there were an estimated 500 people inside the club. One witness told abc action news that they saw a fight about to break out at the bar and went to get security, but security didn’t do anything.
Three men were shot while dancing in the club in that case. Security is supposed to keep guns and contraband out of the club so it was unclear how the gun got in.
The shooting that took place Monday morning is still a developing story. Stay with News Talk Florida for new updates as they become available.
