Tropical Storm Emily Tampa Closures

As Tropical Depression 6 turned into Tropical Storm Emily, Tampa prepared for heavy rains and gusty winds.

Due to weather conditions, there have been closures all around the Bay Area.

Pinellas & Manatee County: The Sunshine Skyway Bridge has been closed until conditions improve.

Manatee County: Manatee County Schools have canceled all extra-curricular activities after 1 p.m. on Monday due to weather conditions. High school athletic programs will notify student athletes directly. The status of Tuesday activities has yet to be determined. Emerson Point Preserve is closed due to branches and debris on the roads. Crews expect the park to reopen tomorrow.

Polk County: LEGOLAND Water Park will be closed Monday due to weather. For ticket window information or other questions email LLF.Experience@LEGOLAND.com.

Sarasota County: The City of Venice has closed the Venice South Jetty at 2000 Tarpon Center Dr. due to unsafe weather conditions. The parking lot at Humphris Park is still open to the public. City officials will determine when the Jetty point will reopen.

All Sarasota athletic fields are closed until weather conditions improve.

The City of Venice has turned off all Venice Fountains, including the Children’s Interactive Fountain in Centennial Park.

Hillsborough County: Adventure Island in Tampa has been closed due to the weather.
