Police Identify Body Of Tampa Woman Found In Ditch

The body of a deceased woman found on Tuesday in a ditch has been identified as the body of a homicide victim, said police.


On Wednesday investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released the identification of the body found. 26-year-old Evelyn Woodham, of Tampa was discovered in a ditch at around 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday.

Woodham was discovered by a person who was out horseback riding about four to five feet off the roadway near the intersection of 20th Avenue South and 58th Street South. She was found fully clothed, but had suffered apparent trauma to the upper body. The cause of death is still being determined by medical examiners.

This is a developing case as police continue their investigation.
