A two-alarm building fire has Polk County firefighters on the scene in Mulberry.

Just before dawn on Sunday Polk County Fire Rescue responded to the building on State Road 60. Parts of the S.R. 60 have been shut down due to a mix of smoke and fog from the fire.

The building is suspected to be an abandoned vehicle repair shop located at 3845 S.R. 60. Firefighters told abc action news that chemicals inside the building caused more explosions.

Three battalion chiefs, fire engines 711, 481, 721 and 751, and an air truck all responded to the fire. Medic rescue units 721 and 481 were also present.

Polk County spokeswoman Mianne Nelson said in a media release obtained by abc action news that no one was believed to be in the building when the fire broke out. There are no reported injuries.

To determine what caused the fire the fire marshal will conduct a full investigation.
