Halloween Is Not Just For Kids

Instead of the same old, same old giving out candy every year, why not do something different?
In our area, lots of people have their own driveway parties. They get out the grill, ice down some cold beverages and get to know their neighbors. Brats are king around here.
I’m sure you know by now, there’s a trick to grilling brats and once you get it, it’s easy. You have to simmer them in beer first, then you can throw them on the grill and get some nice grill marks on them. Don’t skimp on the buns, either. These are brats, not your typical hot dog. Finish them off with really good mustard like Gulden’s (my dad’s favorite), Maille or Ploughman’s and top with some hot sauerkraut.
One more caveat: Never, never, never pierce a brat or the magic will be lost.
