Former WWE Wrestler Stops Armed Robber

Former WWE Wrestler Visiting Florida Stops Robbery

A former WWE wrestler, Shad Gaspard, stopped an armed robbery over the weekend.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Gaspard was at a convenience store in Coral Springs, Florida when a man demanded Gaspard buy him a beer. When Gaspard said no, the man pulled a gun on him, which turned out to be a BB gun.

Gaspard told Pro Wrestling Sheet at that point he thought, “[Expletive] this … I’m not dying in Florida,” and then got in the robber’s face to get him to back down. The robber told Gaspard he better leave because he was about to rob the convenience store.

It got ugly for the man when, per Pro Wrestling Sheet’s report, Gaspard took the BB gun and then chased down the fleeing robber. Gaspard then slammed the robber’s head into the door, and immobilized him with a rear naked choke hold.

“I thought it was a real gun the entire time and honestly, I just didn’t want anyone to get hurt.” Adding to Pro Wrestling Sheet, “I just kept thinking about how I wanted to make sure I got home to my son.”

Gaspard’s former tag-team Cryme Tyme partner JTG was among his friends that were outside in a car during the time of the incident. His friends then called the police.

“I thought it was a real gun the entire time and honestly, I just didn’t want anyone to get hurt,” Gaspard said. “I just kept thinking about how I wanted to make sure I got home to my son.”

Gaspard turned what could’ve been a catastrophic situation into a harmless situation.

Gaspard was a WWE wrestler on and off from 2005 to 2010. He was featured in stints in Wrestlemania and alongside John Cena. He most recent appearance came as an actor in movies such as “Get Hard” and TV shows such as “Key & Peele.”
