Woman Gets 10 Years for Fatal DUI Crash

OCALA, Fla. (AP) — A north Florida woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a fatal DUI crash.

A Marion County judge sentenced 44-year-old Kimberly Sasser on Tuesday. She pleaded no contest last month to DUI manslaughter.

Authorities say Sasser was driving the wrong direction in August 2009 when she crashed head-on into a motorcycle ridden by 48-year-old Charles Linzmeyer. Sasser and her 6-year-old daughter were both injured in the crash, and Linzmeyer was killed.

The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/piXa8v) reports that tests after the crash showed Sasser’s blood alcohol content to be .243 and .242 percent, more than three times the legal limit.
