Tampa Police Search for Credit Card Thief

Tampa police are looking for a man who has been using stolen credit cards at some high-end jewelry stores and he’s charged more than $50,000 on them, including a $13,000 purchase at Tiffany’s.

Over the past few weeks, the man is believed to have stolen wallets and purses by blending in at Westshore area offices where he strolls in, acts like he belongs, finds purses or wallets and takes them.

Within a few minutes, he uses the credit cards in those wallets and purses to buy jewelry at such stores as Tiffany’s, Zales, Fossil, and King’s. Police say he also has used the credit cards at department stores in the WestShore Plaza mall and International Plaza.  An alert clerk became suspicious when the man didn’t take time to contemplate his purchase.

If you know anything about this case, you are encouraged to call the Tampa Police Department.
