DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Florida supermarket worker was killed by a semitrailer that was backing into the store’s loading area.

A Broward Sheriff’s Office news release says the 58-year-old woman was about to start her shift at Seabra Foods in Deerfield Beach when she was hit Monday morning.

Deputies say the woman was walking toward the store’s entrance and stepped behind the semi as it was moving in reverse. She fell and was run over by the truck’s tandem tires.

The crash is being investigated, but detectives don’t suspect impairment, excessive speed or mechanical malfunction as a cause. The truck’s driver hasn’t been charged.
