Streaming Video Favorites Return Today

Streaming Video favorites like Brokenwood, The Man in the High Castle and Mozart in the Jungle return this week

We made it to the weekend and for those who are ready for a long streaming video weekend. Acorn, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and HBO-GO all have something new to watch on this the first weekend in December.

Let’s start our streaming video weekend off with one of my favorite shows on Acorn – Brokenwood Mysteries: Series 3, Episode 1 (Exclusive U.S. Premiere) drops tonight for your streaming pleasure.

The show is filmed on location in New Zealand and it is a very entertain program for those who love a good mystery. The show returns for its third season with four feature-length stand-alone episodes. The shows main stars return with Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Shepard (Neill Rea) and his young assistant Detective Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland) out to solve some clever and entertaining crimes. Though these characters’ humors may be dry, the murders they’re tasked to solve are anything but boring.

The streaming video continues with a new drama, The Level: Episodes 1-2 Acorn TV Original Series (Exclusive U.S. Premiere)

This time we go to the U, K, where this six-part thriller will have you wishing they dropped a whole season instead of just two new episodes so far. This a show about those who lead double lives and their words are going to change dramatically. (Karla Come, Under the Dome), Robert James Collier (Downton Abbey), Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Noel Clarke (Star Trek Into Darkness, Doctor Who), all turn in outstanding performances in this story about secrets and murder is sure to captivate you.

Two of Amazon’s most ambitious and critically acclaimed series, Mozart in the Jungle and The Man in the High Castle, are returning this month for new seasons. These are two of the best streaming video programs hands down. So if you missed them, shame on you and you need to binge to catch up.

Netflix offers the Disney’s The Jungle Book, it’s the latest in Disney’s push to roll out live-action remakes of their animated classics. This is great for family time and it is very well done as you might expect coming from the mouse.

A little history from our friends at The Decider- The live-action remakes began with the 2010 hit the Johnny Depp hit version of the classic Alice in Wonderland. That was followed by Cinderella and there will be more to come.

HBO GO offers some great stuff to watch this weekend. The action-comedy Keanu drops Saturday as does the great Oliver Stone film Any Given Sunday and Cameron Crowe’s seminal 1992 romantic comedy Singles all are worth taking the time to check-out.

So, no reason why you can’t find something good to stream this weekend.
