Children trick-or-treating Thursday night in a Deltona neighborhood got a rude surprise when Volusia County deputies said a 63-year-old man answered the door in a robe that exposed his genitals.
One deputy even said when he was dispatched to the home to investigate, the same thing happened to him.
John Vowels was arrested at his home on Deed Circle on two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office first received a call about a flasher in Deltona just before 9 p.m. on Halloween night. Deputies said two brothers, ages 12 and 14, were trick-or-treating when some other kids warned them to be careful of Vowels’ home, because there was a naked man there.
