Foot Found On Beach Linked To Missing Florida Man

JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (AP) — South Florida authorities say a severed human foot found on a beach on New Year’s Day belongs to a man who’s been missing since mid-December.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says the foot belonged to Dominic Porcaro of Jupiter, who has been missing since Dec. 19. He was last seen leaving on his boat that afternoon.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Christine Weiss tells The Palm Beach Post (http://bit.ly/1dkgQCo ) that DNA testing confirmed that the foot belonged to Porcaro.

Authorities say Porcaro disappeared hours after he was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on a DUI charge.

Juno Beach police found Porcaro’s 26-foot boat abandoned near the Jupiter Inlet on Dec. 20. Porcaro’s foot was found Jan. 1 in a white sneaker under some sea grass on a Jupiter Island beach.
