BELLEVIEW, Fla. (AP) — Deputies say a 5-week-old north Florida baby is dead after his mother fell asleep with him on her chest and rolled over on him during the night.
A man told deputies his girlfriend went to the living room to wake up her daughter Monday morning and didn’t see the baby.
The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/1af3Ds5 ) reports the baby was under the woman, wedged in some cushions. They immediately called 911 and a paramedic pronounced the baby dead at 6:46 a.m.
The Department of Children and Families sent an investigator to the scene.
No further details were immediately available.
