Will There Be A Budget Deal?

Negotiators from both parties are working hard to hammer out a year-end deal that would avert a government shutdown. There are some reports, that in fact a huge deal may be reached, which will additionally secure a massive tax-break package that seemed a long shot just a few days ago.

Wednesday is the next deadline to reach an agreement, and congressional leaders are working on a $1.1 trillion package that would fund the government thru the end of September of next year. Speaker Paul Ryan, in his first big test of inclusiveness, has already told his caucus that there are some compromises in the works, and reportedly plans to fill them in on specifics Tuesday night.
