Ted Cruz Surges To Lead In Iowa Poll

In somewhat of a surprise given the size of the surge, Ted Cruz leaped 21 percentage points in the latest Iowa presidential poll, according to the latest Des Moines Register/Bloomberg poll released over the weekend.

Donald Trump now trails by 10 points, and had already begun turning up his verbal rhetoric against Cruz after earlier signs that Cruz was gaining some momentum. Cruz is playing well with the conservative wing of the GOP, which is a big factor in Iowa, and Trump has been trying to convince voters that they should support him instead. Cruz’s numbers are bad news for Marco Rubio, who is vying for the support of the conservative wing as well.
