Paul Ryan Slams Tone Of Politics In 2016

As Donald Trump and Ted Cruz exchanged barbed tweets on the latter’s wife, House Speaker Paul Ryan slammed the lack of civility in politics today, even making veiled comments regarding the presidential campaign, saying “instead of playing to your anxieties, we can appeal to your aspirations.” It was an address to a group of mostly interns, assembled in the Ways and Means Committee room.

Democrats quickly dismissed the speech, saying Ryan’s words ring hollow, with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid adding that they will continue to until Ryan backs up his words with action, and withdraws his support for Donald Trump.
