Obama: Kids Are Taking Too Many Tests

After years of complaints from teachers, parents and students alike, the Obama administration has announced new guidelines toward standardized tests, saying kids spend too much time taking “unnecessary” exams in schools. The administration admitted that some of their current policies have been part of the problem.

Among the new guidelines, which are recommendations and not regulations, take only “tests that are worth taking,” and no more of 2% of classroom time should be test taking. Obama will meet with teachers and representatives of states and school districts on Monday to discuss the issue.
