Black Activist Outed As White Man?

Update: Shaun King responds to accusations with flurry of Tweets.

 

Breitbart.com published a story today providing evidence from blogger Viki Pate that Shaun King, a key figure of the Black Lives Matter movement and recipient of an Oprah Winfrey scholarship, may in fact not be bi-racial.

“Yet, in recent weeks, rumors have been circulating about his ethnicity. A 1995 police incident report lists Shaun King’s ethnicity as white. And blogger Vicki Pate, who has been assembling forensic accounts of Shaun King’s background and family tree on her blog, “Re-NewsIt!,” has published her findings.” — Breitbart.com

King also writes for leftist blog “Daily Kos”, which published stories actually questioning his background in the past as well.

If these allegations turn out to be true, King would be the second black activist who claimed to be bi-racial to be outed in recent months. Rachel Dolezal, the president of the NAACP’s Spokane, Washington chapter had her cover blown in July. She claims to identify as black even though both of her parents are white.
