There are allegations in an upcoming book regarding donations to the Clinton Foundation and speaking fees given to President Bill Clinton while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. The charge is that those that made donations, or paid speaking fees, were in turn afforded preferential treatment from the Obama administration thru the State Department.
When questioned about the allegations at the White House briefing Monday by ABC News’ Jonathan Karl, Press Secretary Josh Earnest would not categorically deny the charges, other to say that he isn’t aware of any evidence of such occurring. It was the kind of obtuse response which ensures the questions won’t go away.
