Rubio Book to be Released Tuesday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Sen. Marco Rubio says in his autobiography that he was on the verge of dropping out of the 2010 Senate race.

Rubio wrote that he was beginning to believe other people who were saying he couldn’t beat then-Gov. Charlie Crist in the GOP primary.

He trailed badly and Crist was raising far more money.

Rubio says he feared if he didn’t quit, Crist’s backers would make sure he never worked in politics again.

But Rubio says he got angry about the tactics being used to try to force him out. He eventually gained more support and Crist dropped out of the primary.

Crist ran as an independent in the general election but lost badly.

The 303-page book is scheduled to be released Tuesday.
