Interview: White House Addresses ‘To-Do’ List Before Recess

The House and Senate are racing toward summer recess, hoping to escape Washington on Friday. But they’ll have to get through the White House’s To-Do List before heading home. The White House calls this bipartisan handshake on Veterans money a step in the right direction and hopes actual legislation can pass this week.

The other big priority: Money to care for the immigrant children from Central America but at the moment we see no consensus on a dollar figure. The White House says Republicans filing a lawsuit against the President does not rise to the same level of importance although that’s the one item most likely to pass before vacation.
