U.S. Official: ISIS Took Down Russian Plane

Britain says a terrorist bomb may have brought down the Russian Metrojet over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, and it is suspending flights to the popular tourist destination. But the White House says the U.S. will not do the same.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says the U.S. already has the necessary warnings in place for the Sinai Peninsula. The FAA advises US carriers against flying over the region unless they are above 26-thousand feet.

There are no U.S. planes that are taking off or landing in the area. U.S. officials have spoken with their Russian and Egyptian counterparts, and offered to help with the investigation.
