Study: Miami To Be Underwater by 2100

Well this is probably not good news, particularly if you are in the real estate business in these communities… but a new study published in this week’s edition of the peer-reviewed journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, says that if nothing is done to curb global warming, many coastal cities will be wiped out by rising sea levels.

For Miami and New Orleans, it appears it’s too late to do anything… for those cities, it’s not if, but when, and the year 2100 looks like a good prospect, if not sooner.

In a worst case scenario, if nothing is done at all regarding climate change, even NYC could be under by 2085. Various other coastal cities face similar prospects, and the authors note that changes need to be made, and perhaps faster than current world powers are planning.
