In this episode, Derek Mateos with Matcon Construction joins James to discuss all things construction and the development of Downtown Tampa. As a general contractor, true passion comes from looking back on past projects in order to see all that you have accomplished and see the transformation when concepts become tangible designs. While Matcon Construction completes over 50% of work in the Florida area, they have seen a growth trend towards more local businesses and less “chain” restaurants that bring in their own construction crews. This trend has lead to more jobs staying in Florida and the vision of the expanding Downtown Tampa has lead to an increase in the number of people moving to Tampa.
