The hounds have a scent, but still no luck in finding the escaped convicts. In an explosive development, it was revealed Thursday that the NYS Dept. of Corrections investigated prison guard Joyce Mitchell within the past year over an alleged relationship with David Sweat and then questioned after the escape. She admitted that she was supposed to drive the getaway car.
In other developments: State records from parole hearings in the mid-‘90s Thursday shed more light on the backgrounds of escaped inmates Richard Matt and David Sweat, including Matt’s stint as a hired gun and why Sweat landed in jail at the age of 16.
