Hurricane Katrina: Tenth Anniversary Approaches

Later this month, the people of Mississippi and Louisiana will mark ten years since the arrival of the most destructive storm in U.S. history.

A decade after Hurricane Katrina made landfall along the Louisiana coast and caused the collapse of the New Orleans levee system, some parts of the Crescent City still show evidence of the storm.

A non-profit organization is in a month-long push to renovate Katrina-damaged homes and has placed volunteer “ambassadors” in every state.
