Experts Urge Carolina To Close Beaches

For the past 80 years, the North Carolina coast has averaged one shark bite every two years. This month alone, seven people have been attacked, including a 68-year-old man who was bitten Wednesday while swimming in waist-deep water about 30 feet from the shore. Experts are offering theories about the reasons for the shark-bite cluster and some are urging the closure of beaches going into the biggest weekend of the year. ABC’s Jim Ryan has the latest on – what experts are calling – a “very dangerous situation.”
