Drama Regarding Supreme Court Pick Merrick Garland

The Easter recess is over, and senators return to Washington on Monday, as will the renewal of efforts from the White House and Democrats to get Republican senators to meet with and grant a nomination hearing and vote to President Obama’s Supreme Court pick Merrick Garland.

In fact, two more Republican senators over the weekend indicated they backed the McConnell-Grassley roadblock, with Sens. Jerry Moran and Lisa Murkowski adding their support for not holding hearings until a new president is in office. Nonetheless, the White House remains optimistic there will be a hearing. Someone is going to be wrong.
