Congress Has Much To Do

They were hoping to get at least some of the stuff done by the Memorial Weekend break, but didn’t quite succeed.

So now, with just about two months of legislative days left for 2016, there is an impressive stack of legislation, in various stages of passage, needing attention. A Zika response has still not been funded.

Neither has assistance for those in Flint dealing with the water crisis. Puerto Rico’s debt, and combating the opioid epidemic, still awaiting action. There’s that criminal justice overhaul that’s hit some rough sledding, and yes, those spending bills, which number about a dozen. Plenty till do, with partisan tussling as strong as ever.
