Black Friday Weekend Slides Into Cyber Monday

This year, for the first time, online retails sales from Monday are expected to exceed $3 billion dollars, on the busiest online shopping day of the year.

The so-called “Cyber Monday” organically established itself presumably because after a long weekend of window shopping, folks used their access to computers back at work to make their purchases. Of course, with more wired homes and smartphones and the like these days, that no longer holds, but online retailers bought into the concept and offer special deals for Monday, with some sites starting their sales as early as 6pm Sunday night.

ABC’s Scott Goldberg discusses what experts are saying for expected sales on Monday, as well as early weekend numbers, which don’t look so good at this moment.
