Affluenza Teen, Mother, Headed Back To Texas

Ethan Couch, the Texas teenager given probation for four intoxication-manslaughter convictions, is to return to the United States from Mexico on Wednesday. Couch, 18, was taken into custody in Puerto Vallarta Monday evening after spending eleven days on the run from local, state and federal law enforcers.

Couch’s mother, Tanya, was also arrested and could face criminal charges of helping her son to avoid apprehension. Couch had a blood/alcohol level three times the legal limit when he killed four pedestrians with his pickup truck in 2013. His lawyer argued that Couch’s privileged upbringing left him unable to tell right from wrong before the crash.

ABC’s Jim Ryan will have the latest.
