Affluenza Teen Fights His Return To The U.S.

Ethan Couch, the Texas teenager given probation for his intoxication-manslaughter convictions, has managed to avoid returning to the United States – at least for a few days. He and his mother were both to be deported after they were apprehended on Monday in Puerto Vallarta, where they apparently had fled to avoid a potential probation revocation.

Couch, 18, was convicted two years in a drunken-driving crash that killed four people. He was to be returned to Texas on Wednesday, but officials say he filed a legal document to prevent being deported from Mexico. However, for his mother, no such luck. She was deported back to the U.S. Wednesday night.
