Winter Haven Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 33-year-old Demetrious Anton Jones for Attempted First Degree Murder after he shot at a vehicle on Sunday.
Winter Haven Police responded to the Winter Haven Hospital at approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning after a call was received that 25-year-old Marcus Lutrell Walden was in the emergency room with injuries to his upper body and face. The injuries were due to the glass fragments when the weapon was fired into the vehicle.
At approximately 3 a.m., Walden was driving his vehicle in the area of 4th Street NE and Avenue T NE, when he observed a blue Ford Expedition stop in front of him on the roadway. Jones exited the vehicle’s drivers seat and approached Walden’s car. Jones produced a small, black handgun, possibly a .45 caliber, and began shooting in the direction of Walden.
Police say that Jones could be with 31-year-old Marsha Nicole Forrester, who was in the vehicle with Jones when the shooting occurred.
