Police in Farmingdale, New York are putting the pieces together Tuesday night after finding a beheaded woman lying in the road on Secatogue Ave. Minutes later, officers found a man who appeared to have committed suicide by stepping in front of a train less than a mile away.
According to the Daily News, officers say a woman in her 60’s was found beheaded, lying in the street just outside an apartment building at about 7:55 p.m. Tuesday. The identities of the man and woman are not yet known but they appear to be mother and son, police say.
The woman was wearing only a bra and pants. Her feet were near the curb and her head was on the other side of the road. It appeared to have been kicked there.
“The body’s feet were at the curb, the shoulders were at the middle of the street. The head was across the street,” said 41-year-old Jack Imperial, a witness. “I’ve seen some gruesome stuff in my years of living … but nothing like this. I didn’t expect to see something like this, especially not out here.”
Only 20 minutes after finding her body, police found a man in his 30’s near the rail road.
Cab drivers who have had to pick up train passengers at the rail road station have reportedly seen this type of thing before. One cab driver sped off after finding the body and saying he felt sick.
Imperial said his cab driver “got sick” after seeing the woman’s disembodied head and quickly sped away. The duo wondered if what they had seen was a seasonal prank, he said.
“I thought it was Halloween hoax. There was no big splatter of blood. It looked staged,” Imperial said.
Nick Gordon lived near the woman in the apartment and said that he think the killing occurred inside the building. When I came out the door, I saw the blood on the tile. It was all over, as if someone could’ve been pulling a body. You could see the smears going down the stairs.”
