Wet Weather on the Way

Skies are already filling with clouds and showers aren’t very far away.  We start summer today at the beginning of what looks like to be a good 4 -5 days of decent rain.

A tropical wave near Cuba will throw clouds and on/off shower our way all the way through the weekend.  The core of that system will drift NW toward the Gulf, consolidate there by Saturday and then drift NE across the state late in the weekend.  All that time, we will have mostly cloudy skies and on/off downpours. Rainfall totals will approach 2-4″ by Friday afternoon and could push 4-6″+ by Tuesday.  THe NHC now says it has a 20% chance for development.  Stay tuned as this system/forecast could change.

Today:
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms moving across the area mainly this afternoon. Winds E 10-15 mph with highs in the upper 80s.

Tonight: Mainly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers.  Winds E 5-10 mph with lows in the mid 70s.

Thursday & Friday:
Rain chances jumping up to 70% both days with rain on/off.  Rain will be heavy at times.  Highs will top out in the mid 80s with lows in the low to mid 70s.
