Violence In Ukraine: Worst Level In Months

There hasn’t been much media attention paid to the situation between Ukraine and Russia lately. However, violence in eastern Ukraine is at its worst level in months, with a series of deadly attacks over the past week. Most recently, seven Ukrainian soldiers were killed fighting Russian-backed rebels in the east of the country, the military said.

Ukraine said the troops were killed by shelling, mostly in the Luhansk region, that also left 24 soldiers injured. A ceasefire agreed as part of a peace deal signed in Minsk in September has been repeatedly violated by both sides.
