INVERNESS, Fla. (AP) — A disabled Vietnam war veteran and his wife will pull the plug on their large display of Christmas lights because they aren’t physically able to continue putting it together.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/1cARMXG ) reports Frank and Linda Sojka have created the winter wonderland in Citrus County for the past 18 years. They plan to turn off the lights for the final time on Jan. 5. The display includes more than 300,000 Christmas lights and a handcrafted outdoor display that includes an 18-foot high reindeer, nativity scene and Santa in his sleigh.

Frank Sojka says his knees are shot and he “simply can’t do it anymore.”

They begin putting it together before Halloween. And during the Sojkas greeting visitors and serving free hot chocolate to children who show up.
