A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive today after he struck a car Thursday and cart-wheeled over the top of it at a busy Clearwater intersection and then walked away without any injuries. Video from a traffic camera shows 22 year old Michael Smith hitting the car broadside, somersaulting over it, flipping a few times and then landing on his feet.
The accident was a Belcher Road Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and was caught on tape by a red-light camera. The driver of the car took an improper left turn and hit the motorcyclists who then cartwheeled through the air.
