A Venice couple is in jail after officials doing a welfare check on their 5 year old uncover drugs and a cache of weapons and explosives.
Sarasota Sheriff’s deputies helping Children and Families with a stop at the North Jackson Road home turned up 8 rifles, 5 handguns, boxes of ammunition, two pipe bombs, and two hand grenades.
They also found 12 ounces of synthetic pot.
Authorities say the house was filthy.
Arrested are 23 year old Steven Pace and 24 year old Katie Smith.
