A victory for rideshare Uber in its legal battle with Hillsborough County.
A circuit judge has refused the public transportation commission’s request for a temporary injunction to stop the rideshare from operating at least until the county’s lawsuit against Uber goes to trial.
The county contends that rideshares are just like taxi cabs, and should have to get driver background checks, vehicle inspections, and insurance.
There’s no word if the county will keep ticketing rideshare drivers they catch operating without those locally required papers.
